Prestigious software developing agency with offices worldwide requires an experienced Application Server Administrator to manage and develop the company’s applications servers and associated software systems.
The successful applicant will provide development and support for the company’s internal development systems and web applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary.
You will be required to design, install, administer, and optimise company servers and related components to achieve high performance of varied business applications, ensure the availability of server applications, configuring all new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment.
A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related subject and industry certifications is essential. You will have 5+ years experience in Linux/Windows Server Administration in systems or application development for server and data management.Experience with Open Source Software and MS products in distributed production environment required.
Responsibilities:
You will be required to provide programming expertise for internal systems built around Windows or Open Source server platforms.
*Work with Development and online teams providing solutions for upcoming and past projects.
*You will provide solutions for difficult technical problems.
*Provide programming expertise for internal systems built around Windows or Open Source server platforms.
*Provide solutions for upcoming and past projects with the development and online teams.
*Manage support and development issues associated with Linux and Windows server infrastructure across multiple sites.
*Manage support and development issues relating to LAMP setups and custom applications.
*Some scripting of Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange and other various products.
*Help to create, enhance, and implement technical services which further development team needs.
*Provide 99.9% uptime on critical services
*Provide expert documentation on all resources.
QUALIFICATIONS (Required):
*Knowledge of at least two current programming languages.
*Advanced knowledge and experience creating and executing scripts for common tasks in vbs, php, perl, windows and Linux shell scripting, etc.
*Experience with building and maintaining server based software systems relating to distributed development, and associate projects including collaboration, data and package movement, and distributed code management.
*Expert with PHP, Apache 1.x/2.x and modules, Urchin, IIS, SMB, FTP, Sendmail, MySQL, DNS, SSH, LDAP, nagios and more..
*Possess a thorough understanding of the Windows Server Operating Systems and Windows web development administration.
*Experience with migration of legacy web applications and operating systems a plus.
*Experience creating and maintaining enterprise level project plans and documentation.
*Ability to work with minimal supervision.
