CV Reading Tips

A great help with reading CVs is to use the 'Find' function within your software. In Microsoft Word you can use the F5 key or press Control and 'F' (Ctrl F) and you can enter the specific word/skill you are looking to find and it will take you directly there.

A suggested tool to help reviewing multiple CV's is a simple CV Review Template, with the candidates name on the left side and the selectiuon criteria across the top of the page as in the diagram below.

On the right side of the grid, designate a column for the total score achieved by the applicant. Check marks should be carried over and included in the totals ot indicate that, in addition to the numeric score, other selection criteria have been met. Leave the bottom of the sheet open for evaluation comments and notes.

Give each evaluator a copy of the CV, together with the CV Review grid.
